As an active campus filled with over 15,000 undergraduate students, along with a large faculty, and thousands of visitors, it is crucial for Clemson University to have the most up-to-date parking technology. Parkeon will be implementing a Pay by Space parking system to fulfill the needs of the university. The multi-space meters will be solar-powered, wireless, and will accept coins, bills and cards to accommodate people parking in visitor parking areas.
To further enhance Clemson University's parking experience, Parkeon will be working with Streetline to improve and simplify parking enforcement. Real time paid occupancy information will be available to parking enforcement staff by merging Parkeon's transaction data and Streetline's vehicle detection information. Enforcement officers will be able to know which spaces are in violation without having to physically visit each vehicle.
"Clemson University is looking forward to upgrading our parking system with Parkeon," said Dan Hofmann, Director of Parking and Transportation Services. "Parkeon's flexibility, reliability, and experience were the key reasons we decided to work with them."
